Finding a Best Friend Rescue is strict about the adoption of our animals. Most have been neglected, abandoned or abused so we want to make sure that NEVER happens again.

Finding a Best Friend Rescue Adoption Process
(Please READ before applying)
In order to adopt from our rescue you must meet these terms and conditions.

✓ You MUST be over the age of 21 to adopt

✓ Application MUST be completed (ALL questions must be answered or automatic denial) and includes the following:

✓Background check (to verify that the applicant does not have any animal abuse charges against them)

✓Background check fee is $25 (per person) and MUST be submitted alongside the application or via Venmo (@findingabestfriend) if you want to be pre-qualify.

✓Identification Card or license is required and picture of it MUST be submitted with the application and used to do background check

✓Home check (Every room [including backyard—broken fence boards] in the home are checked for things that can be harmful [rat traps, poison, wires, etc.] to the pup)

✓ALL current pets MUST be fixed (SPAYED/NEUTERED) and current on vaccinations

✓If you’re renting, we MUST see the lease or letter from landlord approving this specific pet

ADOPTION FEES
– PUPPIES/ DOGS $350-500 (depending on medical) cover the following:

✓ Vaccinations (UTD-up to date & age appropriate) , microchip, flea and tick treatment, deworming, heart worm test (for pups over 1 year old), Parvo and Giardia tests, blood panel, and fecal testing.

– KITTENS/ CATS $150
Vaccinations, microchip, Deworming, flea treat, and FELV Test.

✓As well as ALL pre-existing medical issues

Spaying/neutering for all adopted animals will be at the expense and the responsibility of the new pet parent. Proof will be required once completed.
